There was a great response over the weekend to our reopening and we know there are many out there who will be eager for us to progress our phased return at a faster pace. Today we are excited to be producing the first doors following our safe working guidelines.
We will be focused this week on plans to increase capacity so that we can limit the impact on your delivery lead times in the coming weeks. We will continue to keep you updated on any developments as they happen.
Here are some of the new safety measures we have implemented in the factory -
- Shift times and break times have been staggered to reduce the number of people moving around at the same time.
- A trained line manager will be using infrared thermometers to take everyone’s temperature on arrival.
- A handwashing station has been installed at the entrance to the building.
- A new one-way system has been introduced and floor markings have been put down to demarcate 2-metre distances.
- Every area has been assessed to ensure the process can be carried out whilst maintaining social distancing rules.
- All areas have a strict beginning and end of shift clean down procedure.
- Cleaning stations with wipes, hand sanitizer, and additional PPE are available at multiple locations around the site.
- Those who can work from home are continuing to do so.
